Interested in learning more about the upcoming City of Austin Energy Conservation Ordinance?

E3 will be holding an information session for buyers and sellers in May so please sign up for the E3 Footprint newsletter, which will have detailed information about the City of Austin ordinance plus where and when our informational event will be. In the meantime, Austin Energy has a wealth of information: Energy Conservation Ordinance

The E3 Team have been strong supporters of the Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure Ordinance-even before we launched E3. We lobbied the Austin Board of Realtors to support the plan and Nathan served on the City of Austin task force-a true testament to the stature he holds in the Austin Green Community. It was through these individual efforts that the core team of E3 partners came to realize that we all had the same vision: to help our clients and our city become as eco-friendly as possible. As Austin’s Green Realtors, we feel that the new ordinance is a positive step in the right direction for the city and our residents. In fact, many cities around America, including Los Angeles, Madison, Wisconsin and Berkeley have implemented similar measures for years.

The Win-Win:

  • Energy-efficient homes reduce strain on the electrical grid-especially on peak load days.
  • Energy-efficent homes reduce monthly energy bills for the homeowner.
  • Energy-efficient homes can potentially reduce future taxes: the more homes in our region that have reduced energy needs, the less likely we will have to pay for new power plants down the line.
  • As a seller, you can tout the new energy-efficient measures of your home-setting yourself apart from the pack and appealing to more buyers.

Questions? Contact any of the E3 Team for help. We are all Austin homeowners and all have a vested, personal interest in seeing that this ordinance has a postive roll-out. We hope you’ll join with us!
