Kimber’s family goes back four generations in Austin and she is a third-generation University of Texas graduate. Kimber’s commitment to focus her career on protecting the environment began in the early 90s when she began working for Greenpeace. After moving to Washington, DC, Kimber then spent over a decade as a producer, writer and researcher for The Discovery Channel and the National Geographic Channel, working primarily on natural history, environmental, science and health programming.
As Kimber and her husband wanted to raise their son in Austin, she moved home in 2005. With a love of architecture and a desire to increase the use of green principles in real estate, Kimber became a Realtor and earned her EcoBroker certification three weeks after becoming licensed. She prides herself on helping clients learn about and adopt green real estate practices. She emphasizes to all that you can find the home of your dreams or efficiently sell your property while still being a good steward of the planet.
Kimber lives in South Austin with her family and serves as the President of the Barton Hills Neighborhood Association, representing one of Austin’s most active and progressive neighborhoods. She is also a supporting member of innumerable environmental and animal welfare non-profits including the Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary, Environmental Defense and the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Kimber and her family also support a Sudanese “son and brother” named Husan through Plan USA.
